Kristina Kettunen (KTM) aloittaa Life-science-man'in toimitusjohtajana
1.1.2010. Kristina on toiminut Life-science-man'in markkinoinnin
asiantuntijana ja mentorina vuoden 2009 alusta ja Anu Harkin siirtyessä
MTT:n palvelukseen Kristina ottaa Life-science-man'in ohjat käsiinsä.
Kristinalla on 20 vuoden kokemus markkinoinnin ja konseptin rakentamisen
asiantuntijana mm. Ab Chips Oy Ltd:ltä, Lännen Tehtailta ja Ingman
Foodsilta. "Olen innostunut uudesta haastavasta tehtävästä - Life-science-man'in
palvelutarjonnan ja konseptin kehittäminen tulee olemaan mieluinen
tehtävä" kuvailee Kristina tuntojaan pohtiessaan ensi vuotta.
Samassa yhteydessä Kristina tulee myös Life-science-man'in osakkaaksi.

kutsuttu Maa- ja elintarviketalouden tutkimuskeskuksen, MTT:n tutkimusjohtajan
virkaan. MTT on maamme johtava maatalous- ja elintarviketutkimusta
sekä maatalouden ympäristöntutkimusta tekevä laitos. Harkki aloittaa

9.10.2009 Euroopan elintarviketurvallisuus viranomainen EFSA antoi
viime viikolla puoltavan lausunnon kauran ja ohran beetaglukaania
koskevaan terveysväitteeseen.
Beetaglukaani on viljan liukoinen kuitu, jonka EFSA katsoo säännöllisessä
käytössä edesauttavan normaalin veren kolesterolin ylläpitämistä.
Väitteen käyttäminen edellyttää, että päivittäisen ruuan tulisi sisältää
vähintään kolme grammaa beetaglukaania kaurasta, kauraleseestä, ohrasta
tai ohraleseestä. Tieteellisessä lausunnossa lisätään, että beetaglukaanin
tulisi olla prosessoimatonta tai minimaalisesti prosessoitua, mutta
vaatimusta ei tarkenneta. Suomen vilja-ala ehdotti kauralle ja ohralle
terveysväitettä beetaglukaanin terveysvaikutuksien huomioimiseksi.

Life-science-man toimittaa Tekesille Sapuska-ohjelman mentori-palvelun.
Tekesin Sapuska -ohjelma tarjoaa ohjelmapalveluna Mentorointia elintarvikealan
pk-yritysten kasvun ja kehittämisen tueksi. Tavoitteena on erityisesti
edistää pk-yritysten kansainvälistymistä ja tarjota yrityksille kokeneita
alan osaajia tukemaan yritysjohtoa kasvun haasteissa. Life-science-man
valittiin mentori-palvelun toimittajaksi koko ohjelmakaudeksi vuoden
2012 loppuun asti. Kiinnostuneet yritykset voivat ottaa yhteyttä suoraan
Life-science-man’iin.

Life-science-man on lanseerannut Mentorointi-toiminnan elintarvikealan
pk-yritysten kasvun ja kehittämisen tueksi. Mentorointi -tiimin jäsenet
ovat kaikki alan kovia asiantuntijoita tutkimuksesta, liiketoiminnan
kehittämiseen, markkinointiin, brändäykseen ja johtamiseen. Jatkamme
Sitran ERA-ohjelmassa rakennetun mentorointikonseptin toimintaa, jonka
useat pk-sektorin yritykset ovat kokeneet merkittäväksi avuksi oman

Anu Harkki palaa Life Science Man Oy LTD toimitusjohtajaksi. FT, MBA
Anu Harkki, joka on toiminut vuosina 2005-2008 Sitran Elintarvike-ja
ravitsemusohjelman (ERA) ohjelmajohtajana, palaa ohjelman päätyttyä
Life Science Man Oy:n toimitusjohtajaksi 1.1.2009 alkaen.

We have signed a Partnership Agreement with Toxis Ltd Oy. Toxis Ltd
Oyprovides a broad range of biological testing and non-clinical research
in toxicology (safety studies, toxicokinetics), and pharmacology (pharmacokinetic,
disease models) with consultation in toxicology. Studies are performed
in GLP certified test site and documentation fulfills the requirements
of GLP.

We have signed a Partnership Agreement with attorneys-at-law Mäkitalo,
Rämö, Juutilainen. Their wide areas of expertise include contract
law, company law, and the law of commerce. In addition to their own
resources, they also offer a broad co-operation network including
law offices, audit companies, and investment bankers in Finland and
abroad.

We have made a collaboration agreement with Fatman Bioinformational
Designs Ltd (FBD) regarding computational QSAR calculations which
FBD provides to Life-science-man to support our REACH services to
the chemical industry.

The national Technology Agency of Finland (TEKES) has decided to grant
funding for our new service product development program. This program
is focused to develop service products for the chemical industry for
management of REACH legislation.

Ras Trokovic, MSc Genetics has joined our team and takes the responsibility
of Business Development in European markets. With his academic background
in research field of genetics Ras will add to the regulatory services
expertise we offer to chemical and food industries. Ras joins our
Helsinki office team from 15th of August and he comes from The Institute
of Biotechnology where he currently finishes his doctoral thesis.

Anu Mehtonen, MSc Nutrition Chemistry will take the overall responsibility
of our regulatory affairs management services for the food and nutrition
industries. As Head of Regulatory Affairs she will continue to develop
